Preface

This textbook is the primary resource for the Business Data Literacy course at Excelsior College. It was adapted from and is largely the same as the original open source textbook created by Matt Crump and his team. References and links to that material are below.

Changes have been make to edit, add, and/or delete material where it is needed for the purposes of the Business Data Literacy course. Most of the changes are clarifications and slightly different language (use of personal pronouns, focus on business). An attempt has been made to mark places where relatively large “chunks” were added or deleted. The original chapters 8, 9, 10, and 13 which are topics not covered in this course were deleted from this adaptation.
